MILPITAS, Calif., October 3, 2006 -- LifeScan, Inc, announced today that it will provide a OneTouch® Brand Blood Glucose Monitor—which includes a starter supply of test strips—at no charge to any diabetes patient that monitors their blood glucose with a BD Logic® Monitor and BD™ Test Strips from Becton, Dickinson and Company. Becton, Dickinson announced yesterday that it will exit the blood glucose monitoring market. The company will discontinue distribution of BD Logic Monitors immediately and, at the end of 2007, will stop distributing BD Test Strips.

Customers who would like to change to a OneTouch® Brand Blood Glucose Monitor can do so by calling LifeScan's toll-free Customer Service Line at 888 430-7226. Certain restrictions may apply.
