LIFESCAN OneTouch®II HOSPITAL TEST STRIPS CLEARED FOR ARTERIAL SAMPLING
Single test strip may now be used for all blood glucose sample types

MILPITAS, Calif., June 1, 1998-- LifeScan, the leading maker of blood glucose monitoring systems for home and hospital use, announced that their current OneTouch® II Hospital strips have been cleared for arterial sampling.

This clearance means that OneTouch II Hospital Test Strips now have versastrip capability, which allows them to be safely and conveniently used in every clinical setting- capillary, venous, neonatal and arterial. As a result, hospitals can standardize using a single system and test strip for all blood glucose monitoring applications.

LifeScan's OneTouch® brand set the standard of performance in blood glucose management with easy-to-use technology that required no wiping, no blotting and no timing. With the versastrip capability of OneTouch II Hospital Test Strips, LifeScan raises the standard once again.

LifeScan, a member of the Johnson & Johnson family of diagnostic companies, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes. The number-one brand in hospitals, LifeScan systems are recommended by more physicians, diabetes educators and pharmacists than any other brand. Every day, more than two million people rely on LifeScan systems for simple testing and accurate results.
