Diabetes can eventually lead to hand problems (tingling or loss of feeling from nerve damage, itchy slow-healing skin). Being aware of symptoms will help you get early treatment. Contact your doctor if:
- You feel tingling or numbness in the fingers and/or wrists.
- Your fingers thicken, which may indicate swollen tissues, scar tissue or a circulation problem.
- You experience stiffness in your fingers, a sign of a potentially serious circulation problem.
