My OneTouch Meter has a small hole on the side that says "Data." What is it for? This opening is a data port that lets you transfer the information stored in the meter memory to a computer for review and printing. The The InDuo® System, OneTouch® Ultra® Meter, OneTouch® FastTake®/ PocketScan®/EuroFlash® Meter (with FastTake Adapter), OneTouch® SureStep®/GlucoTouch Meter (with data port), OneTouch® Profile® Meter, OneTouch® Basic® Meter (with data port), and OneTouch® II Meter operate with IN TOUCH Software and several other types of data management systems. To communicate with these systems, you will need an RS-232 OneTouch™ Interface Cable. What is IN TOUCH Diabetes Management Software? IN TOUCH Diabetes Management Software is an easy-to-use program that allows you to transfer your blood glucose readings directly from your meter to your computer. Then, using any of the ten different pre-formatted charts and graphs, you can analyze your blood glucose data in detail. The information you get will help you and your healthcare team more easily and quickly spot trends, evaluate your progress, and modify your treatment plan accordingly.
Designed for use with the InDuo System, OneTouch Ultra Meter, OneTouch FastTake/ PocketScan /EuroFlash Meter (with FastTake Adapter), OneTouch SureStep/GlucoTouch Meter (with data port), OneTouch Profile Meter, OneTouch Basic Meter (with data port), and OneTouch II Meter, the IN TOUCH Diabetes Management Software is a fast, easy way for you to monitor your glucose and take control of your diabetes.

What does the IN TOUCH Software program do? The Data Management program retrieves, processes, displays, formats, prints and maintains blood glucose and related data that is stored in the memory of the InDuo System, OneTouch Ultra Meter, OneTouch FastTake/ PocketScan /EuroFlash Meter (with FastTake Adapter), OneTouch SureStep/GlucoTouch Meter (with data port), OneTouch Profile Meter, OneTouch Basic Meter (with data port), and OneTouch II Meter. Data Management features include:
- Direct transfer of blood glucose readings and related information stored in the meter.
- A choice of 10 standard report formats to plot or list blood glucose readings and other data, which gives you the flexibility to review data in the most meaningful way.
- Calculating blood glucose averages, standard deviations, readings within, above and below the target range.
- Custom report settings (for example, date ranges, target blood glucose range, time slots) to fit individual requirements.
- Displaying, entering, and editing insulin type and dosage, daily events, exercise duration, carbohydrate count, and other important information.
- Printed reports that provide long-term records of blood glucose test results, for easy and fast review and analysis.
- Saving data in other applications for storage and later retrieval.

What are the minimum computer requirements?
- IBM®-compatible computer with 486 processor (or greater highly recommended)
- 8 MB RAM
- 15 MB Free hard disk space
- 3.5 inch, high-density floppy disk drive
- Mouse or trackball
- Microsoft® Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT or Windows 2000
- Available RS-232 serial port
- 640x480 resolution (or better) VGA monitor (color recommended)

What reports are available? IN TOUCH offers 10 report formats:
- Average Reading Summary: Plots average of blood glucose readings by day of the week and by mealtimes. So you can spot patterns and make adjustments to stay within ranges.
- Data Lists: Lists test records in reverse chronological order (most recent first) with date, time, result, test type and event. With this complete overview, you can review data in a clear, simple manner.
- Data Statistics: Lists averages, standard deviations, percentages of tests above, below, and within target range, the number of hypoglycemic occurrences, and event averages by pre- and post-mealtimes to help track progress.
- Glucose and Insulin Graph: Graph historical glucose readings in one graph, records historical insulin types and dosages in another. Provides the option to turn an average line on or off. Helps you monitor the effects of insulin doses on blood glucose readings.
- Histogram: Gives you a history of your blood glucose readings through a bar graph. You can see at a glance how many times your readings fall within a certain range.
- Line Graph: Plots individual blood glucose readings by date. Provides the option to turn an average line on or off. You can see when you tested above, within, and below your target range by simply scanning the line.
- Logbook: List daily test results in a familiar Logbook format. Records historical blood glucose results and insulin doses by mealtimes. Helps you review and spot trends.
- Readings Within Target: Displays in a pie chart the percentage of blood glucose readings that fall within, above, and below a target range for pre- and post-meal times. All nine charts can be used to help show overall control.
- Standard Day: Plots all blood glucose readings on a 24-hour graph. Provides the option to view the average glucose value for each time slot (indicated by a red triangle). Helps you spot trends related to the time of day.
- 14-Day Summary: Lists and plots the last 14 days of test results in a Logbook format, bar chart, and a line graph. Provides the option to turn an average line on or off. Offers a variety of ways to quickly review the last two weeks of blood glucose monitoring.

- The individual mode supports one user's readings and a guest's readings as a temporary record.

How is the information transferred to the computer? A special RS-232 Cable (called a OneTouch Interface Cable) is used. It has a 25 pin serial port connector that goes to a serial port on the computer, and a stereo plug that connects to the meter. A 9-25 pin adapter is also available for use with 9 pin serial ports.

I use more than one meter. Can I download multiple meters and merge the data into one report? As long as all of the meters in question are LifeScan meters, you can merge as many meters and meter types into a single database as you choose, or you can keep the results separate by setting up IN TOUCH for multi-patient use.
