In January, LifeScan announced the decision to exit the hospital point-of-care blood glucose testing market effective March 31, 2013. As of this date, SureStep® Brand hospital meters and SureStep®Pro® Test Strips will no longer be available or supported by LifeScan in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. We are committed to supporting you during this transition to a new point-of-care blood glucose vendor.

To help us better anticipate product supply needs and ensure uninterrupted product supply during the transition, we will be implementing the following initiatives.

•  Starting October 14, 2011, all SureStep®Pro® Test Strips will bear the expiration date of March 31, 2013. This coincides with the last day on which product support will be available from LifeScan.

•  Effective July 1, 2012, orders for sequestered lots will be limited to a three-month supply. This will allow us to closely monitor your supply needs to ensure we maintain a consistent supply of high-quality strips as you transition to a new blood glucose monitoring system.

•  Returns will not be accepted after April 30, 2013. This provides an additional 30-day period after product discontinuation to return unused products.
